ABOUT ME
Julius Hollingsworth is an emmy award winning actor. A journeyman in the entertainment business starting off at La Mama under Hal Dewindt's at 13 years old. He was admitted into NEC. beginner acting class at 14 years old under Kris Keiser. The first recipient of the Diana Sands Scholarship to Circle In The Square at 15. He appeared in "The Sign In Sidney Brustein's Window" as Alton Scales, directed by Lloyd Richards, Pete Spivey in "The Blues for Mr. Charlie" by James Baldwin in it's first EQUITY production since it's Broadway production of Broadway under Dick Gaffield 's American Folk theater.
On Broadway he appeared in "The Me Nobody Knows" as Clorox for Showtime T.V. Regional credits include Blues by Jacquetta McMurray at Luna Stage and John The Baptist in Salome in North Carolina Chappel Hill under Trezana Beverly. Eddie in Asphalt touring almost 5 years under Jane Comfort direction with a book by Carl Hancock Rux music by Toshi Regon. He also appeared in "A common thread" by
Carl Hancock Rux directed by Harry Poe.
Hollingsworth co-stared in "To Be A Man" an ABC Emmy award winning show as Chucky the loveable nerd. Ozzie Davis writer, Cliff Frazier Director.
A Member of the Black Filmmakers Acting Ensemble under Harry Poe, he has appeared in Jane Comfort 's 40 Anniversary Bessie award winning show, Cherchez La Femme Audelco nominated show. He has been a producer on dance concerts, theater presentations, and tv.shows ie Francesca Harper. He teaches an advanced beginner and beginner acting classes.
He is also an award winning McDonalds Gospel fest winner solo vocalist. He has coached actors on and off broadway.
A Torch Bear Award winner in theater he mentors entertainment students willing to listen. Former Associate Producer on several theater companies, he has his own company Soul Mending Communications and is a member of The Essence of Acting Company. He is also apart of the Harlemwood studios film company.
As a community activist, Julius was the director of Arts and Culture for Harlem 4 Obama and a GOTV specialist during the Obama years.
